Beginnings bring out an honesty and raw-ness me.
I am getting ready to start offering yoga classes outside of the studios that I have been working for. It is much like learning to bike for the first time. There is anticipation and exhilaration. There is nervousness and doubt.
The maple trees have started their journey toward fall. Little twinges of orange have started to make their way into the green density of their foliage. Maples are beauties to behold especially in the autumn. They always draw a sigh of regret and a gasp of awe from me. Maybe because unlike me, they have no qualms about leaving the abundance of summer into the uncertainty of what is ahead. Perhaps it would behoove us, thinking humans, to be as trees--trusting in ebb and flow.
A practice to help remember life’s ebb and flow:
Set aside a minute or two each day for quiet.
Bring your attention to your breathing.
Inhale as you say to yourself "I trust"
Exhale "in life's ebb and flow."

"You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather," a dear friend and teacher often says.
During these cloudy, rainy days, its easy to forget that. Wrapped up in the weather of one's passing, everyday existence, I often get lost in the fears and worries that cloud the absolute--the sky.
Beginnings are endings, and endings are beginnings--the two are one. As humans living within space time, markers delineate the process, and help us navigate this life. This site is one of my markers. Today, I am celebrating.
